Something About Myself...

Life covers many journeys, some good, bad and indifferent. I’m fortunate because I’m where I am today and able to gather ideas and still experience those journeys. We’ve travelled them for a reason and destination.

One of my journeys relates to Feng Shui. My interest in Feng Shui started through a card reader’s prediction that I would start something new to carry me through life and if I persevere with it, whatever I chose would protect and sustain me. At that time I picked up a book about Feng Shui.

I came to Feng Shui from a background of farming and horticulture and that of a nursery man and landscaper. So basically I interpreted the readings to suit my personality, willingness to change and usefulness in my work. That commenced more than ten years ago.

My work with Feng Shui and the garden led me into a new world of Yin and Yang, Chi energy and Harmony. The Ancient Chinese saw something of nature and our connecting with it in a sensitive, sustainable and responsive manner. I found myself becoming retrained to that of an observer and student of nature and treating the garden environment as a place of connectiveness and spiritual salvation.

As a new decade opens its doorway or pathway to us all, I feel many of us are going to turn away from leading traditional lives and seek more personalised and spiritual horizons. I feel we’ll turn more to the East for something of its culture, history and philosophies of life including teachings of Buddhism, Taoism and Zen. Maybe Hinduism in there somewhere, but a spiritual awakening guiding us to become more compassionate, considerate and tolerant to others and that of nature and our personal environments. We’ll become more sustainable and conscious of impacts on our surroundings and look to maintaining our health and well being more closely.

I feel the garden offers great promise to practice some of those changes especially if you have the opportunity to do so and willingness to change. I think you’ll take that risk in the search for something new and worthwhile.

Anyway, enough of these ramblings, my website, FengShuiGarden.com.au hopefully is creating a new horizon for myself and other people seeking something for themselves. The garden can become an interesting place and its magical gift of harmony awaits...
